So last Sunday was my two year anniversary and my lovely wife got me a Helicopter round-trip over Atlanta.
Taking off at PDK we flew towards Buckhead – Midtown and then Downtown finally reaching Turner Field.
It was a really nice experience and I don’t think I have ever taken that many photos in a 25 minute period.
Since in a small-ish Helicopter I did not take too much time composing and only carried one lens there is a lot of stuff to wade through so here my first leg… The take-off.

This weekend I was at Smoke Rise Baptist Church in Tucker, GA. I attended the Graduation of my Mother-in-Law (MIL) for her Dr. of Ministry and of course was asked to take a few snap-shots of the occasion.
Even though I am not a religious person I find that many churches have a great architectural value. Smoke Rise not excluded which had a very nice looking Sanctuary thus I was more impacted by simpler things like the game the light played, shadowing trees in the frosted glass.

Frosted Glass
It is a very simple photo but the twilight from the outside made it special for me.
The Church itself was rather traditional from the outside. Thus still not bad to look at.

So it seems that the new year 2009, is not going much better so far. I have made it out just once this year to take some photos.
I had made a stroll to a nearby commuter airport here in Atlanta, to take some shots of incoming and outgoing planes. I used to really enjoy taking pictures of airplanes and it is still somewhat fun, thus the biggest problem is zoom.
My top zoom caps me at 200mm which is not enough by a long shot. It is plenty for taxiing planes but I found 99% of those photos to be boring. There is no drama. I was going for tire-smoke or hovers but they were all too far away.
So I guess in order to take some new aviation images I need to either get a longer zoom or get that extender that has been on my Amazon wishlist forever.
Meanwhile, it is very cold in Georgia. I don’t think it makes it much abobe freezing anymore and I am too much of a baby to get out at those temperatures.
This Saturday I will do some Volunteer work, helping out my Boss for Destination Imagination. They are havingĀ DI Construction Challenge I will take some photos for. Who knows, I might finally get to post some photos here for this year

As I wrote last night, my trip to Germany is over. I am currently I’m the plane rushing towards the US at 495 mph. I actually have the feeling he is flying kind of slow
.
Of course now that I unpacked my iPhone they start a movie? The only entertainment you get back here in cramped coach.
It appears to be Kung-Fu Panda.
Guess I’ll watch that for a little and get back to writing.
……
OK. I watched that movie and must say I am not impressed at all. Anyway.
I am about 1850 miles away from Paris now. Glad about that since I harden my serious dislike from that city. I was only at the airport and they ticked me off. The only airport that made me take out my camera and all lenses from the bag. I had to show my ticket and my boarding pass to just about every person that works at the airport.
The one good thing is that I managed to get a seat at the emergency exit which let’s me at least stretch my legs a little.
I enjoyed my trip to Germany but it was time to get back to my wife
.
Here a couple find snapshots before I oat some “real” photos next week.

On my third day here in Germany I finally remembered to use my iPhone and take some photos off the balcony at my parents house. It might not come over that well with the little iPhone camera but they have a very nice view and can actually see the Baltic sea.
Not sure where I’ll head today but it will be some form of sight seeing I am sure
.
Here are the shots I made. Better versions using my DSLR will come.

Now that my blog has settled in to it’s new location I hope I find some more time to write.
I was looking forward to this Saturday, it is my wifes birthday and I finally have a long overdue vacation.
I discovered a wordpress client application for my iPhone which may make it a little easier to write while I am on vacation and post some snapshots.
On Monday I am leaving to Germany for a week (much to the dismay of my wife as she is not coming along) to visit my family. During that time I will post some snapshots taken with my phone.
Now I gotta go pickup a birthday cake.

Once again I changed my Blog. This time I moved it to a hosted WordPress engine which suits me better at this time.
I do not have the time to manage a website so I decided to go with “just a blog” for now. I still have my gallery at http://mbgaleria.com of course but this is hosted with Zenfolio as well.
Let me know what you think – I will tweak the design a bit since the photo in the banner (bridge) is not mine…

It has been quiet around this blog for a while, well mostly I don’t get out taking photos as much as I’d love to (which is my fault alone for not getting my butt in gear).
Yesterday I celebrated my 35th Birthday and I come to think, it’s time to change that a bit.
For one, I a toying with the idea of starting a small business, has something to do with photography, yes but I will not give up more info just yet. I will have to do some fact-finding on what it takes, what implications there may be and most importantly, how much do I charge?
I am sure I will write an update here once I am closer.
But besides that – I need to get out more, out of the house to take photos, something I really enjoy doing but my main problem (is it old age?) is the getting out part, not being out. I could say "It’s too hot" but hey, that’s Atlanta, deal with it….
So hopefully over the next few weeks I will find some more time to take photos.
